INFANT BAPTISM

Born with a fallen human nature and tainted by original sin, children also have need of the new birth in Baptism to be freed from the power of darkness and brought into the realm of the freedom of the children of God, to which all men are called. CCC 1250

"Parents, sponsors, and the pastor are to take care that a name foreign to Christian sensibility is not given." CCC 855. Please ensure the meaning of your child's name is not against Christian teachings. We recommend choosing a saint's name or that of a holy man or woman from the Bible or a Christian virtue for your child.

CONFIRMATION

The reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” CCC 1285

RECONCILIATION

Confessions will be held 15 mins before all weekend Masses in the open foyer of the main Church.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK

"By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them. And indeed she exhorts them to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves to the Passion and death of Christ.” CCC 1499

If anointing is required before an operation, please contact a priest of the parish or the Parish Office before admission to hospital.
